About

Named after the Quijarro Province in Bolivia, where the type locality, El Dragón mine is found.

As a mineral it is chemistry is similar to petrovicite and another yet un-named (Cu-Pb-Hg-Bi Selenide). Also close to another discovery so far termed as “Bismuth-rich petrovicite” from the Schlema-Alberoda, Erzgebirge, Germany).

Also similar to hansblockite.
