Description

This is a splendid cluster of dolomite in extraordinary shape. Dolomite is mostly known as a boring "accessory" mineral in small crystals. But these Spanish example is exquisite and impressive, with their gemminess, luster and size!  Classic old-time material from the 1960s-1970s of stacked, interpenetrating dolomite rhombohedrons from the Azcarate Quarry at Eugui, Spain. The rhombs are highly lustrous and translucent to transparent and the dominating rhomb is 5.7 cm across.
