Description

Beautiful milky quartz collected from the Ouray Fault in the mineralogically famous San Juan Mountains.

Milky quartz crystals from the Ouray Fault are considered among the best and have been featured several times in Rocks & Minerals Magazine. A fine specimen from the Cliffhanger Pocket graced the front cover of the Sep/Oct, 2006 issue.

There is at least a little chipping on virtually all pieces from this near surface pocket due to the freeze/thaw cycle at this extreme mountain locality. Earth movement has contributed it's share as well. Acrylic base is not included. 166 grams.
