Zircon

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Mud Tank Zircon Field, Alcoota Station, Central Desert Region, Northern Territory, Australia
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
7.3 × 5.8 × 8.7 cm
Description

A classic Mud tank Zircon crystal with a complete termination, it is big, bold and I think beautiful, weighing in at 706 grams, an impressive zircon there is some contact to the sides and the base termination is a mess as the crystal originally formed on matrix which has subsequently weathered away. Given the conditions in which it formed and weathering experienced it has a good lustre testimony to its hardest and is in very good condition considering.
