Description

Super classic specimen of knitted galena or “strickblende” that are skeletal crystals of galena in a matrix of brown sphalerite, variety schalenblende. Even if none face is cut and polished, the natural faces are displays very good the internal structure.

The Schmalgraf mine was closed in 1932 but this specimen was collected in the dump material by Gabriel Fauvart in the 1960’s. Ex Gabriel Fauvart specimen.
