Description

Single crystal of fluorite from Seilles, an old-time classic from Belgium. It is a floater specimen, of a deep and uniform blue colour and formed by spiky, naturally etched faces. These pieces were found as floater crystals in a loose clay matrix, filling cracks in limestones. In very good condition, with just minor erosions, is hard to find nowadays a floater piece such as this.

Collected by Marcel Volant at the end of the 1960’s, it was acquired in 1990 by Prof. Dr. Renaud Vochten (vochtenite).
