Description

Spongy aggregate of snow-white hydrozincite acicular crystals of zincite. Under long and short ultraviolet light hydrocincite fluoresces whitish-blue.

Cute specimen from the Super Classic European locality. In Plombières, zinc and lead was produced until in 1922 when the last 5 reduction furnaces ceased production.

Collected before 1980 by Joseph Verbist, who was the CEO of the CMB (Compagnie Maritime Belge).
