Description

Calcite at the Azcárate quarry (Eugui) is relatively uncommon, mostly associated to bladed magnesites. This aggregated specimen however is formed by acute rhombohedral crystals with polycrystalline surfaces, overgrown by a second generation. Under long and short UV light, they are fluorescent with whitish and pale yellow colours. Mounted on a socle. The Azkárate quarry is now closed and restored.

It is from a limited find made by Francisco Maello in 1991.
