Description

A classic from Strontian with well developed white harmotome crystals and calcite var paper or schiefer spar on matrix. Comes with a typical M&M label, which reveals an interesting provenance: The label is allegedly from the Dukes of MANTUA and MONTFERRAT collection - an "Italian" collection from the 18 th century. In fact M & M was a kind of fraud by the englishman CHARLES OTTLEY GROOM-NAPIER.
