This is a very special locality. The fluorites came only in a very small zone were two geological collide. One is the "Gutensteiner Kalk", the second the "Haselgebirge". The first was a deepsea-bitumen, teh second a bitumen from the coast. Geological happenimgs brought these two formations together, which were originally seperated for a few thousands meters of altitude. And only in this thin contact-zone fluorite can be found. There are only a few spots, Ungerhammerplatzl wa the most famous one, discovered in the 70ties. Since decades it is absolutely impossible to dig there, all filed collecting is prohibited and all material came from the original discovery over 50 years ago. The specimen shows one isolated, exposed crystal on light matrix, along the edges you can see a strong, dark purple color under minor backlight. A very good specimen for this famous classic locality!
