Fluorite

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Landsverk #1 Feldspar Quarry, Evje og Hornnes, Agder, Norway
Size Range:
Cabinet (10-18 cm)
Size:
13.1 × 8.6 × 4 cm
Description

The specimen shows 2 generations, one generation of dark smaller crystals with tones of violet and one second generation of larger crystals which show touch of green. These crystals of second generation show sharp termination, glassy character and some of the larger ones are even glossy. Of course this is not an eye-catching specimen like from Illinois or UK. But it should be highly ranked as a rarity - Fluorite from Norway is generally very rare and nearly impossible to obtain. I was lucky to acquire a few specimen from a local collector and now I am happy to give some collectors the opportunity to get one of these rarities. No significant damages to report.
