Masses of lead-grey, magnetic pseudorutile, arranged in layers, accompanied by opaque, dark green, hexagonal crystals of wernerite (see pics 3 & 5). Pseudorutile is an own minerals species but closely related to rutile. Associated with minor pinkish feldspar.

Comes with original hand-written label of Augustin Alexis Damour (1808-1902), a well-known french mineralogist, and on-glued corresponding number sticker. His personal mineral collection was sold to F. Krantz (who was in charge of the Krantz mineral dealership between 1891 and 1926), probably shortly after his death.

The label means: "Nigrine - (fer titané) magnetique - envellopant du cristaux opaque de wernerite. - De Krageröe (Norwège)" -
Pseudorutile - (titanium iron) magnetic - coating of opaque wernerite crystals - From Krageröe (Norway).
'Nigrine' = pseudorutile or Fe3+-rich rutile, Dana 6th, 237 (1892).
