Description

Gold from an extremely rarely offered locality in Ukraine. The Saulyak gold deposit is located 17 km south of the town of Rakhiv on the northwestern edge of the village of Dilove, in the Ukrainian Carpathians, not far from the border with Romania. The main ore mineral is gold, which generally occurs in native form; most of the inclusions are <0.1 mm in size.

This sample shows two tiny gold platelets frozen in the milky white quartz matrix (see pics 1, 3, 4), and another one on the backside (see pic 6), all clearly visible under magnification.
