A portion of nice, fine-crystallized gold on quartz-schist matrix.

Trunkey Creek is an old gold mining village in Bathurst Co., New South Wales, Australia. The hills around include a lot of abandoned mine shafts. Trunkey Creek was established during the gold rush back in 1851 but was not officially gazetted until 1873. At one time the village was said to have a population of around 2,500. Now the village only has about 60 residents.

An interesting gold specimen from old pioneer days, comes with nice old label.
