Description

Here we have a fine combination from Freiberg, Saxony, Germany: Brassy crystals of arsenopyrite associated with clear to white, elongated quartz crystals, groups of cream-colored, tablular magnesite (so-called 'Mesitinspat') and minor black sphalerite, in good condition overall.

From an old italian collection, comes with 'Bergakademie Freiberg, Sektion Geowissenschaften' (Freiberg Mining Academy, Geosciences Section) label dated 1970 and on-glued correspinding number stickers.

Mesitinspat = Fe2+-rich magnesite, Doelter I, 220 (1911).
