Description

Oligoclase variety of plagioclase feldspar, commonly know as Oregon Sunstone in basalt from the well known Sunstone area in Oregon. This is a very rich piece with a good sized piece along with a 1.7ct faceted piece of pale yellow Oligoclase, the same as the piece in matrix. I faceted a piece of rough into a 8.5x6.9mm cushion cut gem. The faceted gem contain no inclusions.

Normally the sunstone is collected as loose fragments for faceting but I liked some in matrix and then combined with a faceted gem in my opinion is the ultimate combo. I hope you think so too.
