Description

Of all the natrolite-calcite specimens I've had so far, this is the most spectacular with cognac-colored calcite crystals on a flat piece of fossil wood (surely bark) replaced by natrolite. With lots of very nice shiny, colorless, acicular natrolite crystals. A highly interesting specimen of fossil wood like I've never seen from any other place. It's the only fossil replaced by natrolite I've ever heard about. Last but not least it's a very aesthetic specimen with very good crystals.

The caves have a volcanic origin (pyroclastic stream?). Last described by Udluft (1929) and Holms (British Museum 1937).

Ony minor dings around the edges.
