Tungstenite & Catamarcaite

Rare Mineral

Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Tsumeb Mine, Otavi Highlands, Namibia
Class:
Massive/Crystalline
Size Range:
Micromount (under 1cm)
Size:
0 × 0 × 0 cm
Description

You are bidding on a curious analyzed polished probe from Tsumeb. Tungstenite is clearly present, but a second phase, labeled 'cuprotungstite' is present with a theoretical formula of Cu6GeWS8 which cooresponds to the mineral catamarcaite which was not yet described at the time of this analysis. All this in a matrix of germanite, ovamboite, tennantite and galena. This sample most likely needs to be restudied as it could be the second world locality for catamarcaite.

Comes with complete analysis (see analysis tab above) and the resin bearer measure 2.5cm for scale. NO RETURNS on this sample with additional analysis!
