Description

Excellent and very richly decorated specimen with elongated banana yellow bergenite crystals on matrix. The bergenites show the typical habitus of truncated lamellar crystals. It is remarkable that the richness of this specimen extends over an area of 1.8 x 1.4 centimetres, which is extremely extensive for bergenite. High quality specimens like this are rarely seen. Ex. Backmann collection (Dresden, Germany). From a find in May 1981.

Bergenite is only known from nine localities worldwide – rare mineral.
